And you expect that anyone they brought in during FA would have absolutely solved their problems? Bringing in Peppers, Rolle, or Kampman would have been just as big of a gamble as trading for Peters or Hobbs; until they play you just don't know what you're getting. I am just saying that its too early to say its over for the Eagles' 2010 season.

Im not worry about the other 30 teams, you cant expect to draft all the needs and expect them to produce in their 1st year. Trades??? lets hope, but i highly doubt Andy going to trade for anyone that's going to make a defenses this year. Hobbs didn't do anything last year...and peters was up and down all year.

It's March 8th not September 8th. Let's wait until camp in August to really see what the team has done. The big name free agents are gone but its not like there were many to pick from and it doesn't preclude the Birds from doing a trade or going after a RFA. Remember they traded for Peters last year. They also picked up Hobbs in the draft via trade. This draft looks like its gonna be very deep so teams might have more interest in getting picks this year and the Birds always have picks.

The Eagles didn't get Peppers but guess what there are 30 other teams that didn't get him either. Same can be said for Rolle and Dansby. Kampman was coming off injury (see Stacy Andrews) and Vanden Bosch is getting pretty old. That about sums up the great free agency market the Birds "missed out" on. A few teams may have changed since last year but there are a lot of teams that look exactly the same right now. And the teams that changed had a lot more problems than the Eagles did.

I just dont understand how the Eagles are going into 2010 with the same team, and expect to win. Your not going to get all the help we need out of the draft

I was thinking the same thing. I've been really surprised its been this long with no annoucement. Didn't Haynesworth run to the bank at like 2 am last year? That's what I expected from Peppers. There are more and more reports coming out about other teams Peppers is willing to visit (last read was Philly and NE). Seems like his agent is letting this out to really force Chicago's hand-pay up or were on a flight to the Eastcoast.

Still wondering if Peppers is worth it. But I read something last night that was a good point- even if Peppers doesn't consistently play well the other team always has to account for him because you never know. Even the threat of him on the field would make Trent Cole better.

I certainly think Sproles and Taylor are interesting options for the Eagles. But Sproles may get a lot of money, which would be a bad move IMO.

Peppers isn't happening, mostly because it seems the Redskins are positioning themselves to out-bid everyone. Peppers seems more than happy to go to the highest bidder.

Nothing really surprising with Jones and Smith. Too bad Hobbs got hurt when he did because it finally seemed like he was being productive for the team (on special teams at least). He had some really nice kickoff returns right before getting inqured.

What are everyone's thoughts on the FA that should be available? Peppers is the obvious cash cow this year and he would be an impact player (when he decides to play) for the Birds. What about RBs to "replace" Westbrook? Jets said today Jones will be released. Should the Birds bring in a vet or look at the draft? I think they need to bring in a vet to help McCoy mature and develop. Saw the Cards will release Rolle by Friday as well. Think the Birds should solve their safety problem in FA or the draft?

I hate the offseason but at least Friday will bring some news to read about.
