Winter is Here
The off-season is now upon us, brought on by a demoralizing loss to the worst possible opponent. It was not a fluke. The Cowboys essentially dominated the Eagles for 12 quarters this year. One of the biggest goals of the off-season will be figuring out a way to swing that pendulum back our way.
There are a ton of questions about this team that we’ll see answered. Among them:
Is the Kevin Kolb era about to begin?
Can Stewart Bradley get back to 100%?
How do the Eagles get a pass rusher to compliment Trent Cole?
Was the slump in the second half of the season a preview of what will happen to the aging Sheldon Brown at CB?
Do the Eagles feel confident about Macho Harris as the free safety moving forward?
Is Moises Fokou a legitimate NFL starter?
Can Jamaal Jackson recover in time for training camp?
Will a healthy Stacy Andrews be an asset to this team?
Shawn Andrews — does he have a career left?
Last season this team said goodbye to Brian Dawkins, Tra Thomas, and John Runyan. Will we be saying goodbye to Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook this year?
It’s going to be an interesting off-season here at EaglesRumors. This is when things heat up around here. And as much as we’re still hurting from the weekend, we look forward to what’s to come.
I think Omar Gaither was a big loss too. He looked as if he was on track to have his best statistical season to date.
1) I honestly don’t know….but if it is…I’d be somewhat excited. Consider that guys like Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, and Phillip Rivers all took over for QB’s who were let go of their respective teams (Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, Drew Brees). The released QB’s are all great QB’s, but I honestly believe that the 3 that took over, except for one (Manning), are better.
2) If not, I hope we have an opportunity to draft a guy like Brandon Spikes….ah hell…GIVE ME SPIKES ANYWAYS!!!
3) I don’t see why they don’t move gocong back to DE. That’s where he played in college and in his final two seasons there…he had 20 sacks minimum! So that saves a possible need for a DE. Of course going out and getting another won’t hurt one bit.
4) Maybe…but I can already see that they’re preparing to do something about it. Whether it’s drafting a CB high in the draft and trading Brown…or simply picking up a guy via free-agency or trade, they’re planning something.
5) Would you? I don’t feel at all comfortable. I honestly see the Eagles going with a Safety within the first 2 rounds because of the depth of talent. Watch for guys like Morgan Burrnett and Chad Jones.
6) I haven’t seen enough of him. I still think the Eagles will sign a big name LB in free agency, because there are a lot this year, so he may be backing up that guy.
7) I HOPE SO!!! Our line fell apart as soon as he left! He’s a great offensive lineman, and I’m glad we have him!
9) Sadly I believe that one of them will go. Which one is still up for speculation. Kolb is waiting in the wings, as well as McCoy. I believe that what might happen is Westbrook will get tired of his constant injuries and retire, and the Eagles will attempt to trade McNabb to a team like Buffalo, or Kansas City.
This is all my opinion though. So I have no idea what will happen. But no matter what…I BLEED GREEN FOR LIFE!!! GO EAGLES!!!!
