Interesting (In a Bad Way) Day at the NovaCare Complex

The Eagles have lost their kick returner and fourth cornerback (Ellis Hobbs) for the season.  Apparently, Joselio Hanson is also going to miss about a month with an undisclosed issue.

The Eagles have signed a cornerback (Ramzee Robinson).  And Jack Ikegwuonu will get a shot — he’s been called up from the practice squad.

We’ll provide the details on Hanson when available.

Update:  Yep, it’s a “drug” suspension.  Hanson and his agent say it’s for a diuretic he took in 2008 and he has finally lost his appeal.  They are not happy, but rarely is a player in this situation.

DeSean Jackson Has a New Agent: Satan

Yep, he dropped his current representation and signed with Rosenhaus.

In fairness, he was being represented by DeBartelo Sports (remember, he’s a Bay Area kid), and the DeBartolo’s aren’t exactly known for their ethics, either.

Here’s hoping he keeps that head on straight.

Eagles To Sign Cornerback?

Per Scout.com’s Adam Caplan, the Eagles appear to be on the verge of signing a new cornerback.  They have been working out several free agents, apparently worried that Dmitri Patterson will be unable to stay healthy and/or perform with some lingering injury issues.

The team’s search of the free agent does not speak well of their opinion of Jack Ikegwuonu, who is still on the practice squad.

Eagles Week 10 Report — Monday

As we suspected last week, Brian Westbrook did not end up playing last night.  As was discussed in length by Collinsworth and Michaels, Westbrook is the sort of person who isn’t going to rush back and put his mental health in danger.

If you hear anything about headaches during the course of this week of practice, he may very well sit out this weekend as well.  The return of ankle issues is not going to help.

Other players experiencing issues:

Akeem Jordan had a very ugly moment last night, but it looks like a simple hyper-extension.  He could play this weekend.

Ellis Hobbs is seeing specialists already about his “stinger”.  He could be out for a while.

Jason Peters simply had an ankle sprain and should be good to go.

Chris Gocong should be able to practice on Wednesday and play on Sunday.

Some important guys returned to practice today, while others remain our or limited.

Broderick Bunkley and Victor Abiamiri practiced today and look ready to go for Sunday.

Brian Westbrook was limited in practice today.  No word on why, but we doubt it would simply be to keep him fresh.  He may have had a return of a light headache he was reporting earlier in the week.

Chris Gocong has not practiced at all this week.  Looks like Moises Fokou could be getting his first NFL start on Sunday.

It looks like Brian Westbrook will be practicing tomorrow — at least in some limited capacity.  It remains an open question whether or not the player and the medical staff will feel comfortable enough with his recovery to let him take some shots on Sunday night.

Kevin Curtis has already been ruled out for practice this week and Sunday’s game.  The fact that the offense really doesn’t miss him isn’t going to get him back any sooner.

Victor Abiamiri may be able to practice some this week.
