Vick Gets a New Nike Deal

Update:  Per Nike, this is not an endorsement deal.  Looks like Mike is simply getting some free cleats.   The Nike people squashed that pretty quickly.

No terms disclosed (yet).  But his agent did confirm that Vick, once again, has an “endorsement” deal with the athletic shoe and apparel giant.  Quite a successful few months for Vick.

It’s Done — Trotter is an Eagle Once More

For the third distinct time in his career, Jeremiah Trotter is a Philadelphia Eagle.  He was signed today to a one-year deal.

Trotter Is Back

Not officially signed (yet) — but he was back visiting the Eagles again today.  Could today be an “official” physical after the workout last week?

Really seems like Joe Mays may not last the season.

UPDATE:  That is not to say Mays is going anywhere immediately.  Garcia is clearly the easy move.

A Very Positive Sunday

Andy Reid reported after the game that there were no injuries of consequence in the game, a nice change for the Birds.

He also said he expects Donovan McNabb to be back for their next game in two weeks.

Brian Westbrook’s ankle will continue to be a point of concern, but LeSean McCoy looks like a dangerous weapon for the Birds in his absence.

DeSean Jackson returned to practice today, but Kevin Curtis missed it after being out there yesterday.

Westbrook and McNabb both watched practice from the sidelines briefly.

Yep, the Trotter Thing is For Real

Yes, the Eagles worked out Jeremiah Trotter yesterday.   No, they are not likely to sign him (at least right now).

Omar Gaither and Joe Mays have been either injured or unimpressive (or both) to this point.  Either of them still has a chance to turn it around, but obviously the Eagles are concerned.

Kevin Curtis returned to practice today.  However, the three biggest weapons this offense has — Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, and DeSean Jackson — we’re all watching.

Joe Mays and Quintin Demps did practice again.

Eagles Interested in Another TE

Update:  Caplan was right.  Birds just announced Rucker to the practice squad.  Myers has been released.

According to Adam Caplan, the Eagles have shown interest in recently waived Martin Rucker — formerly of the Browns.

Rucker excelled in the spread offense at Missouri, so you understand the pass-happy Eagles’ interest.

We’ll check back in shortly with updates on practice today.  There is a chance McNabb could be doing some on the field work.

Per Coach Reid, Donovan McNabb has started throwing again, but is unable to get his full velocity and distance.  You can assume that he won’t be playing until that is the case.

Westbrook and DeSean Jackson are both missing practice today, but Reid seemed confident that both will be ready for Sunday.

Joe Mays and Quentin Demps are both healthy enough to practice again.

Stacy Andrews will not regain his starting role this week.

Sean Jones Takes a Cut

Interesting note from this NFP article today:

The Eagles forced Sean Jones to accept a pay cut prior to the season, under the threat of release.

Jones has been a disappointment so far for the Eagles.
