Westbrook Sitting Out

This entry was posted on Jun 02 2009

Apparently Brian Westbrook is a bit gimpy.  We’d all like to know how the heck this guy has an ankle injury in June, but that explanation was not forthcoming.

This latest injury, head coach Andy Reid insists, has nothing to do with the knee. “This past week, he got a hold of (head athletic trainer) Rick (Burkholder) and his ankle was bothering him, so we’re checking it out,” Reid said. “His knee is feeling good. He went through our last camp and was feeling good. It’s just his ankle that’s bothering him.”

There is literally no time of the year when Eagles fans get to take a break from Westbrook injury anxiety.

  1. jesus, hes injured in june???thank god for mc coy.seems hell have every oppurtunity to make a push for rookie of the year.

  2. ok. seriously, wtf? are there any fa’s still out there, any undrafted rookies, or anybody else at the rb position that we can bring in?? a season of 40%-50% healthy westbrook, a rookie mccoy, and garbage lorenzo booker is not going to cut it at all. if westy goes out for good then honestly the eagles are fucked at rb. because putting all the load on a rookie (regardless of who he is), and a player who probably isnt better than a 3rd or 4th stringer in a division with the giants d and the redskins d is suicide. you see what happens to the eagles when they pass 85% of the time when they have healthy backs, if they are forced to pass all game every game it will be a long season. please not again, bring in another person before it gets any later in the year…. ahh!
