Eagles, McNabb Negotiating New Deal

According to Derrick Gunn of CSN:
A league source has told CSN’s Derrick Gunn that the two sides have been discussing an extension for the past month. They have agreed to pause the extension talks until a later date and instead have decided to focus on reworking the two years remaining on his current deal.
This was suspected given the silence over the last month from the McNabb camp (Michael Smith included).
Thanks to Greg for the quick scoop on this one.

Interesting to see what happens with McNabb and his contract through the summer.
I saw the Cowboys cut Ellis today. Any indication the Eagles are actually interested? I’ve read several things saying the Eagles are a logical place for him, but that’s what was said for Housh, Boldin, and Edwards.
No indication the Eagles are interested. Everything is speculation.
Ellis has been a very productive player. But the Eagles defensive front is very deep, and there’s every piece of evidence that the coaching staff and front office are happy with the guys they have.
Cole is an every down player — and with Abiamiri, JT, Clemons, and a reborn Howard still on the roster it sort of makes the speculation seem illogical.
so,no extension.theyre just reworking his last two years?sounds like a smart move.i really hope we can win a superbowl w/ him in these next two years.
