Jets Made Major Offer for Eagles #21
According to Clark Judge of CBSSports.com, the Jets were trying hard to get in front of the Vikings to select Percey Harvin.
But that was only after they were approached by the Jets with an offer of four draft picks, including two in 2010. According to someone with knowledge of the situation, one of those was “a high first-day pick,” and the other was a high second-day choice — presumably a third or fourth rounder.
“The Jets were pretty aggressive,” the source said.
Instead the Eagles themselves moved up, of course. Grabbing Jeremy Maclin at #19. The Vikings did get Harvin at #22.
If the Eagles had chosen to work with the Jets and traded out of the first round, the mood in Philadelphia (and likely in Donovan McNabb’s home) would be significantly gloomier.
