Latest From Workouts
Two young Eagles were injured on Wednesday during off-season workouts. Rashad Baker appeared to suffer a head injury and had to be helped off the field. He appeared lucid and in control of his faculties after practice.
Cornelius Ingram injured his knee on Wednesday. It is being called a left-knee contusion, which may slow him down for a few days but is otherwide considered non-serious.
Finally, perhaps Lorenzo Booker also got hit in the head pretty hard, as he seems to think the backup running back job is his.
“For me to start sweating, you’ve got to take my job,” Booker said. “Come take my job. If you can take it, then take it. We’ll see. That’s what the whole point of camp and all that is.”
We like confidence, but it’s generally best if that confidence is earned because you proved yourself. Booker was a complete bust last season, and Andy Reid already appears willing to put McCoy in the #2 spot on the depth chart.

i personally like the confidence out of booker i dont care wether hes earned it or not i think its harmless and these guys are pro athletes a competitive drive is necessary.but i doubt he holds the number two spot from mc coy.and is ingrams left knee the one he injured at fl?usually w/ acl tears once it happens once ur knee is more easily injured so hopefully this is not a sign of things to come.
I’d much rather hear him saying “Last season didn’t go so well for me. I know I can play much better and contribute to this team, and I really want to work hard and impress the coaches this summer.”
But that’s just me. And the thing is, it’s not “his job” for anyone to take. He’s never been the #2 running back, and barring an injury he’s not likely to ever be.
But athletes can certainly be a bit delusional, sure. If this sort of mindset is what motivates him to get better it’s not going to bother anyone. He’s just a bit nutty.
i agree w/ u.the job never has been his to lose.my point was just that i think its harmless and competition is never a bad thing.on the other hand there is such a think as too cocky but i didnt think he crossed that line.delusional?sure.i can see that.but harmless never the less.at this point hes kinda irrelevant anyway so maybe itll motivate mc coy and some good will come of it.did u find out about if it was ingrams same knee?
Agreeing with ER. Theres nothing wrong with some harmless competition to get them to play at another level. However, there is something wrong if Booker believes that the way he played last year somehow was sufficient enough for someone to have to “take” his job. If he is delusional, and believes that he has earned the backup job, he clearly doesn’t understand that his level of play is nowhere near what is required to be on this team, and probably won’t be useful in inspiring competition between himself and the younger guys. Loved this guy when we picked him up, but I’m not sure where that player went. Probably not gonna be an Eagle for much longer.
@ illeagle-
It is the same knee Ingram tore his ACL in, which is unfortunate but hopefully it won’t be an issue. I heard today on CSN Philly that he was on the field today for practice but was wearing a brace. I’ll take a few brusies and concussions at this point; I read the Pats 3rd round pick tore his knee out the other day- that would suck! Will be interesting to see if the Eagles bring in another TE as a safety net. Can’t see Schobel making the squad again. And Bright might be fine, but he’s converting to TE so he probably won’t be much help right away.
I agree with reese on the Booker “situation”- I am not sure he’ll be on the 53 man roster unless something amazing happens soon.
I am so ready for the season to start especially since the only talk now is how amazing the Patriots are going to be because Tom Brady is back. I can only hope they get killed early on in the season (wonder how many violations of the “Brady Rule” will occur?). The Patriots are a notch just below the ‘Boys on my teams I loath list.
What does everybody think of our pre-season power ranking of 4th?
i think its rediculous were after ny.we beat them two outta 3 last year and weve improved since that.on paper at least.its just typical media kissing ny teams ass.suprised the jets werent two.im with badger in hating the pats right after the boys them being number one on this list is stupid maybe all the anylist on espn and nfl record have forgotten bradys injury takes two years to fully recover from.they sure remember to mention it every time they talked about donovan last year.they steady disrespect us on espn and nfl.is it just me or is it everytime espn shows a highlight of a player hes scoring vs us.and nfl network only shows replay games w/ the eagles if it a game we lost.thats ok they can dis us all the way to miami this year.
oh yeah thanks for info on ingrams knee badger
