Eagles Offer for Boldin
Kent Somers, the Cardinals beat writer whom we frequently link to around here, reports that the Eagles did in fact make an official offer for Anquan Boldin.
The Eagles also made an offer, according to an NFL source: a third-round pick and starting cornerback Sheldon Brown. The Cardinals quickly rejected it.
Somers does not report if the Cardinals made a counter-offer, or if the Eagles’ offer was so distant from their expectations that they felt it worthless to continue.
You would think that with the Eagles holding so many draft picks, the Cardinals (if they were serious about trading Boldin) would have at least inquired further or made a counter offer themselves. This may be further evidence that Boldin was never going anywhere.
