Braylon Edwards Available?
According to Ralph Vacciano of the NY Daily News (via The Giants Insider) the Browns at least entertained the notion of trading Edwards to the Giants — but the two teams could not come together on the Browns’ compensation.
TGI states that the Giants offered two draft picks (a 2nd and a 5th) for Edwards, but the Browns wanted those picks and Steve Smith. The Giants refused, and the Browns let the talks die.
If this is true, consider the following. The Eagles have two first round picks. The Eagles have three 5th round picks. The Eagles have Jason Avant, who we could easily argue is the same receiver Steve Smith is (and did you read what Andy Reid said about him being “basically unstoppable” last week? Talking him up for a trade, Andy?).

[Updated]: Fixed the error with draft picks. Thanks, guys.

Do we have 2 2nd picks?
How do the eagles have two 2nd round draft picks..My understanding is that the eagles only have 1 in the 2nd round.
Fixed. Thanks, guys.
But i would still do a trade..
I would probably agree, though it’s a steep price. It’s worth mentioning that many of the “experts” consider second round picks to be quite a bit more valuable than they used to be (the talent to compensation ratio is better for the team).
if we didnt have 2 1st rd picks i woundnt..but if we dont trade down and use both picks i would do the trade
I would give the Browns what they want for B. Edwards. We need a quality reciever if we ever plan on making it to the SuperBowl!!
I agree with Russell. If we didnt have those 2 1st rounders I would not do this trade but since we do, I wouldn’t hesitate. Hope fully this works and we still sign a RB and WR/TE (which ever)
